Bio:Keith Baker grew up in Oregon and graduated from Eastern Oregon University. After seven years of teaching elementary school, he returned to study illustration at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. Keith?s honors and awards include Parents? Choice Awards for illustration for "The Dove?s Letter" and "Who is the Beast?," a Golden Kite award for "Big Fat Hen," a School Library Journal best book of the year for "The Magic Fan," and the bronze UNICEF-Ezra Jack Keats International Award for excellence in children?s book illustration. 1988 Dove's Letter, The A dove tries to return a letter to its rightful owner and in the process brings joy to all who read it. Illustrated by Baker.
1989 Magic Fan, The Yoshi, a young Japanese carpenter, uses his skills to make a boat to catch the moon, a kite to reach the clouds, and a bridge that mimics the rainbow. Illustrations are also by Baker.
1990 Who is the Beast? Aimed at children ages three to seven, this book focuses on a tiger that suspects other jungle animals are fleeing from him. The tiger resolves the situation by pointing out their similarities. Baker is the author and illustrator.
1991 Hide and Snake Readers are challenged to a game of hide and seek by a brightly colored snake, who hides among familiar objects. All illustrations are done by the author.
1994 Big Fat Hen Big Fat Hen counts to ten with her chicks and all her friends. Illustrated by the author.
1997 Cat Tricks Aimed at children from preschool to grade one, this picture book features a playful cat that can bake cakes, paddle a canoe, and perform other feats. Baker is both the author and illustrator.
1999 Quack and Count Seven ducklings practice addition through rhyming. Contains illustrations by Baker.
2001 Little Green With illustrations by the author, this book features a young boy who paints a hummingbird as it flies around his garden.
2002 Meet Mr. and Mrs. Green Mr. and Mrs. Green, an alligator couple, enjoy the county fair, camping, and eating pancakes. This publication features illustrations by Baker.
2004 More Mr. and Mrs. Green Mr. and Mrs. Green, an alligator couple, enjoy fishing, painting, and going to the park. Features illustrations by the author.
2005 Lucky Days With Mr. and Mrs. Green Illustrated by Keith Baker, this book features Mr. and Mrs. Green, the alligator couple. This time around, they try out detective work and a local talent show.
