|Bio:||Herman Lawson was born in Missouri and has been a resident of Oregon since 1938. After serving as a teacher and principal, he became Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent for the Eugene School District, a post he held for many years. It is written from primary sources covering the major events, both pro and con, and dedicated to those made the Eugene Public Schools an outstanding school system. The author is currently active in preserving the history of Eugene 4J schools for archives.
