Use of the library's photocopying equipment is on a first come, first served basis with a time limit of 15 minutes if others are waiting. The machines may be preempted by the library for occasional special institutional uses.
Copies are $.10 each if cash is used, or $.07 each if the library copy card is used. The photocopiers accept nickels, dimes or quarters and give change for larger amounts than $5.00. The library cannot provide change for larger denominations. Library copy cards (pre-filled with $5.00) can be purchased at the circulation desk. The copy cards are $6.00 for the first card, and $5.00 if you have an empty card to turn in.
EOU employees may also use the photocopiers by entering their personal or departmental photocopy charge code; or by requesting the bypass option at the circulation desk, where the patron’s institutional account and the number of copies made will be recorded. For the photocopying of library materials only, EOU faculty or staff may sign out and use a library copy card. This option will be available on a first-come first served basis and will be maintained each year until the maximum cap of $100 worth of photocopies is reached.
Title 17 of the United States Code governs the making of photocopies and other reproductions at Eastern Oregon University. Copyright laws must be respected. Copyrighted materials may be reproduced only if copies are intended for your own personal use. Federal regulations stipulate specific requirements addressing "fair use" in copying materials. Information on copyright laws is posted for your convenience near the photocopy machines.
